Simple Screen Recorder records only a black screen

1.0 Problem

SimpleScreenRecorder (SSR) program records only a blank black screen on Ubuntu Linux.

2.0 Solution

The problem is solved with the following steps.

1. Close all programs.
2. Log out.
3. Start a fresh login procedure. Click on the user name.
4. Before entering the password, find the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. If mouse does not work, move the cursor forward using the tab key and reach the gear icon. Press ENTER when cursor is at the gear icon. Clicking, or pressing ENTER at this icon might give two options, “Ubuntu” and “Ubuntu on Wayland”. If you get these two options, select the first option, “Ubuntu”, otherwise go to the next step below.
5. If you get two choices as, “Ubuntu” and “Ubuntu on Xorg”, choose the latter. Use Shift and Tab keys to return to the password field.
6. Enter the password to complete the login procedure.
